What the site cannot work without

These are set whatever you choose, because without them the feature they belong to simply does not function. None of them is used to profile you, and none is shared with anyone.

Your sign-in session — a cookie

Set when you sign in and removed when you sign out. It is what keeps you signed in from one page to the next. Without it there is no way to have an account at all.

Your basket — local storage

Kept on your device so what you added does not vanish when you move between dishes. It never leaves the browser until you place the order.

The answer you gave above, with the date you gave it. Stored so we do not ask again every time you open the app.

Light or dark, and the install banner — local storage

Your theme preference, and the fact that you dismissed the “add to home screen” banner so it stops coming back.

What we only store if you allow it

A per-tab identifier — session storage

A random value that lets us see one visit as one visit rather than as twenty unrelated page views. It is not tied to your account, it is not readable by anyone else, and it is destroyed when you close the tab.

Which dishes you looked at and tapped

Sent to our own servers with that identifier, the page you were on and the page you came from. Restaurants see it as counts on their own dishes — how many people saw a dish, how many went on to order. They never see who.

Until you answer the question above, none of this is collected: the measurement code stops before it mints an identifier or sends anything. Turning it off later stops it from that moment.

Third parties

Talli sets no advertising cookies, runs no third-party analytics product, and has no social media trackers. The measurement described above goes to our own servers and stops there.

The site is served through a content delivery network, which sets its own cookie to route and protect traffic. It is a security and delivery function, not a profiling one, and it applies whatever you choose here.

Your browser can do this too

Every browser can block or clear this kind of storage, and you are free to use that instead of the switch above. Blocking everything will sign you out and empty your basket, because those are the two things on the necessary list.
